Born from an in-studio research project at leading architecture practice RTA Studio, the Living House was created to solve the challenge of building affordable homes that are comfortable, cheap to run and quick to build.

By leveraging precision-engineered, modular Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) systems, the design minimises almost all material waste and reduces construction time to six weeks or less, while maintaining high structural standards.

This 85m², three-bedroom home is meticulously optimised to ensure that every resource is used with purpose—nothing more, nothing less. 

Beyond its efficient construction, the Living House prioritises long-term performance through the use of natural, low-maintenance materials, integrated solar solutions, and high-efficiency appliances designed to minimize ongoing living costs.
